JOSEF HARPE (1887-1968), Supreme Commander of Army Group A (Center) is relieved of his command and placed on the Fuhrer-Reserve due to the inability of German forces to stop the Soviet Vistula–Oder Offensive; Gen. WILHELM BURGDORF (1895-1945), Hitler's Chief Adjutant who escorted Rommel when the latter was forced to commit suicide and sat on the tribunal that condemned Hermann Fegelein to death. As for Bohme, after being captured in Norway, he was charged with war crimes committed in Serbia during his control of the region in 1941. Bohme killed a hundred Serbs for every German killed, and fifty for every German wounded; this resulted in the massacre of thousands of civilians. When his extradition to Yugoslavia seemed imminent, Böhme committed suicide. Fine, sold with a 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" Hoffman portrait of Hitler, postally used in 1939.
