Good lot of three items signed by record-setting pioneering aviators of the post-World War I era, includes: GAGO COUTINHO (1869-1959) Portuguese aviator who became the first to cross the South Atlantic by air in 1922. A.N.S. in Portuguese, 1p. 8vo., Lisbon, [Oct.?] 20, 1936, untranslated but believed to be a transmission of his autograph, which he executes boldly in black ink at the conclusion. Shows a horizontal fold and a few spots of soiling, else very good. WITH: DIEUDONNE COSTES (1892-1973) French aviator and flying ace who set numerous flight distance records through the 1920's. A.L.S.. in French, 2pp. 8vo., Paris, July 9, 1928, to the editor of a journal, untranslated but discussing a recent letter from fellow aviator Joseph Le Brix. Costes signs at the conclusion in black ink. Shows a horizontal mailing fold, faint red pencil marks and wear overall, else very good. WITH: JOSEPH LE BRIX (1899-1931) French aviator who completed a record-setting around-the-world flight as co-pilot to Dieudonne Costes, prior to their falling out and his own record flights. Killed while attempting the first non-stop flight between Paris and Tokyo. A.L.S. in French, 1p. 4to., Paris, [n.d.], untranslated but almost certainly the letter to which Costes refers to in his letter described above. Shows folds with toning and bumps to the edges, else very good.
