(1902-1974) American aviator who, in his "Spirit of St. Louis", was the first to fly solo non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean. Typed L.S. "C.A. Lindbergh" on personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., New York, March 4, 1931, to Thomas B. Fitzpatrick, secretary of the Roslindale, Massachusetts Board of Trade. In full: "Thank you for your letter of February 28th and the framed photo of the Air Marker erected on the roof of the Municipal Building. I sincerely appreciate your consideration. Shows some slight blurring to the signature, notable splits to the original mailing folds at the top and bottom edges, two large chips to the bottom edge and the bottom-right corner, a small area of paper loss near the center but away from the text, and mounting remnants to the verso, still very good.
