(1887 - 1934) Nazi Brownshirt who organized, trained and headed the SA, a friend of Hitler who was at his side in the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch, later set-up and executed by Hitler following their disagreement on the use of the two million-strong S.A. Incredible association signed and inscribed book, Rohm's autobiography "Die Geschichte eines Hochverraters" ("The History of a Traitor"), (Munich: Verlag Franz Eher Nachf. G.m.b.H.), 1933, 384pp. 8vo. Rohm signs on the front flyleaf in blue ink, adding a dedication to the man who would order him murdered during the Night of the Long Knives: "Meinem Fuhrer im Treue Verbundenheit" ("My Fuhrer, in True Solidarity"), with the place and date "Munich, Oktober 1933". Furthermore, Adolf Hitler's ex libris bookplate is affixed to the front pastedown opposite the signed and inscribed page. This bookplate is peeling away from this page slightly at the bottom edge, while the hinges show some splits, with some additional folds to the pages and bumps and a spot of soiling to the blue cloth boards, else very good. The title of this book references Rohm's conviction for high treason for his participation in the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch, and rather ironically foreshadows his fall from favor, murder at the hands of the SS, and the complete destruction of his reputation.
